New director, familiar mission

Since February 1, Daphne Braal has been the new general manager of Werkse!. “I have the honor to serve as General Manager of Werkse! "To work on something that drives me: creating opportunities for people who want to, but aren't always able to." For the past eight years, Daphne has worked in Delft as chair of the board of directors for the housing association Vidomes. "I felt it was time for a new challenge and was looking for a position where, on the one hand, I could deal with major business and strategic issues, and on the other, I could make a concrete social impact for people. Werkse! guides people who are distanced from the labor market towards work and development. A wonderful mission that energizes me.

Working together on opportunities

We guide Delft residents from welfare into employment by offering them training and education and guiding them through the job market. We also help inclusive employers recruit, train, and retain staff. A win-win situation! Companies can also contact us to help them fulfill their SROI obligations. 

I'm eager to actively collaborate with employers who want to pursue socially responsible business practices, so we can create more opportunities together. A growing number of Delft entrepreneurs want to contribute to an inclusive labor market. They are also very welcome to join the Werkwaardig business network.

The power of work

The personal contact with employees is one of the best aspects of my job. I recently spoke with an employee at our landscaping company who proudly said, "I'm really good at leaf blowing!" A real gem, that's what we do it for. Work is so much more than a job; it provides structure, self-esteem, and a place in society. That's why we stick with Werkse! Working every day towards an inclusive labor market and sustainable employability. Because when everyone has the opportunity to utilize their talents, society as a whole becomes stronger.
