Rights and duties

Do you receive benefits under the Participation Act (Participatiewet)? Then it is important that you know what your rights and obligations are. Are you in doubt about what is allowed or required? Discuss it with your consultant. We will be happy to help you!

  • Doing your best

    You must do your best to find work and keep your job. Even if this is work that you have to commute for, or first have to follow a course. You can discuss what you are allowed to do and what you have to do with your consultant at Werkse!

  • Let us know about any changes

    If anything changes in relation to your health, family or money, or if there is a reason why you are unable (temporarily) to work, let us know immediately.

  • Attending appointments

    If Werkse! invites you to an appointment, you must attend. If you are unable to attend, you must notify us at least an hour beforehand. And if you fail to attend without having notified us? Then there might be consequences for your benefits.

  • Being available

    Ensure that your contact person at Werkse! can get in touch with you from Monday to Friday (inclusive).

  • Apply for leave/holiday

    Are you going on leave for more than 3 days? Then you need permission from the municipality. Apply for this at least one week before your leave via the website of the municipality of Delft. You have 28 days of leave per year.

  • Reporting sick

    Are you working (temporarily) to gain experience, and are you sick? Report this to your supervisor before 09:00 AM.

I'm going to get paid work. What does this mean for my income?

Are you starting paid work soon, part-time or full-time? That’s great! But what does this mean for your financial situation? And for example, for any benefits you receive? Our financial specialists are happy to help you. This way, you can focus on your new job. Your consultant at Werkse! makes an appointment for you with the financial specialist.

I need benefits. How do I arrange that?

You apply for unemployment benefits at the UWVIf you are not entitled to unemployment benefits, To avoid surprises, help you with social assistance benefits.

In both situations, you need a DigiD. To apply for a DigiD, you need a citizen service number (BSN). You can find this number on your identity card or passport.

I don't receive social assistance, but I am looking for work. Can Werkse! help me?

Yes, Werkse! We can help if you live in Delft and don't have any benefits or other source of income. We can also assist you if your unemployment benefit expires within 13 weeks. Register at Werkse!After registering, you will receive an invitation to meet.

Werkse! is available to residents of the municipality of Delft. In some cases, we can also assist residents of the municipalities of Midden-Delfland and Rijswijk. You can inquire about this by calling our general telephone number: 015-2151400.

I'm too old, no one wants to hire me anymore. What can Werkse! do for me?

Werkse! can connect you with employers who don't look at age, but at experience, knowledge, and commitment. If you're motivated, anything is possible!

I am single with children. What can Werkse! do for me?

Werkse! has a dedicated team for single parents. If you mention you're a single parent when you schedule an appointment, we'll connect you with a consultant from this team. We can help you arrange childcare or find a job that allows you to work during school hours.

I'm going to work. How do I arrange childcare?

Are you going from welfare to work and do you need childcare? Werkse! can help you with this. For example, with an application to the Tax Authorities for childcare allowance.

Are you going to work and will you remain partially on welfare? Be careful! Childcare will only be reimbursed with a target group declaration. You cannot arrange this yourself; you must do so with your consultant. Without a target group declaration, you may have to pay unnecessary costs yourself. The consultant determines annually whether you are eligible for a target group declaration.

When should I come to Werkse! are and when at the municipality?

You can ask all your questions about finding (and keeping) work and the Participation Act Werkse! Questions about your benefits, such as how much money you receive and when you receive it, can be submitted to the municipality.

I have debts. Can Werkse! help me?

Report it to your consultant. Werkse!We'll then direct you to the help you need. You can also contact the Delft Financial Services Center directly. You can make an appointment online or by phone: tel. 14015. If you're registered as a Delft resident, they'll be happy to help.
