4 tips for a strong CV

A good resume increases your chances of a job. That is why we would like to give you a few useful tips to make your CV stronger.

Tip 1. Little work experience? Show other experiences on your cv.

Do you have little information to put on your resume? Maybe you haven’t been educated or never had a paid job. Then show that you have been active, for example with volunteer work, or helping with school outings or neighbourhood activities. Those experiences also count, even if they are unpaid.

Tip 2. Make your CV clear.

Is your resume three or four pages long? Then there is too much information in it. Keep your resume short: everything should fit on one page. If you have a lot of information, put together information that belongs together. And only choose the information that is really important for the job you are applying for.

Tip 3. Let your resume stand out!

Are you insecure, because you have never applied or have often been rejected? Make your CV stand out! Ensure clear formatting and put important information in bold text. You can use Canva for this. This is a free program that allows you to create a professional design. It works on the computer, but also on your phone. Just make sure you don’t subscribe, because Canva is also free to use. Tip 4. Be honest!

One more important tip: be honest. You don’t have to invent anything to make a good impression. Just be yourself and show what you can really do.
